Nature’s Shelf

As part of its outreach and conservation initiatives, the Herbarium Hazara University (HUP) is developing plans to introduce a range of ornamental, native

Rare plant species in the form of eco-friendly souvenirs and home décor items. These will include aesthetically prepared dried plant specimens, framed botanical art, and small potted native plants that not only beautify indoor spaces but also raise awareness about local biodiversity. The initiative aims to promote the cultural and ecological value of Pakistan’s native flora while supporting sustainable use and conservation. This effort will also create opportunities for community involvement and generate public interest in plant conservation through meaningful, nature-inspired products.
